Posted : 13 years, 5 months ago on 26 October 2010 06:03 (A review of American Hardcore)

I love hardcore music with metal, so I watched this to see the grass roots of the hardcore movement. Most have misconception of punk/hardcore and many need to watch this documentary. It's very interesting and a good watch. You get to see the birth of the Straight Edge movement also. It's sad to see how kids(now adults) could have so much HATE, but at least they put into something productive rather than extreme violence.

My only dislike is the constant swearing..but they're punks, what do you expect hahaha.

A Classic Tale Revised.

Posted : 13 years, 5 months ago on 26 October 2010 01:07 (A review of Robin Hood)

I myself do not like the idea of Robin Hood. However views aside, this film was actually Epic (I hate using the word Epic by the way), but it truly is.

Being a Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett fan, I had to see the film regardless of critics and skeptics. This tale is portrayed much darker than you would expect it to be. The length of the film was exceptional, I am rather fond of "long" movies. Mine as well get your monies worth right? Anyways Russell is a fantastic Robin 'Hood', due to his great acting ability as the "hero" or "leader".

It's a very interesting take on the story and has some humorous elements to it. King John of course is an uber "douche" and you strive to see another film of this to see what happens haha.

Regardless of the possible "inaccuracies" or portrayal of the story, Ridley does an astounding job of directing in a Peter Jackson type style, that I adore. The Celtic/Irish melodies really strike me with joy, I love them and they're througout the film. Well done Ridley..well done.

Oh House

Posted : 13 years, 5 months ago on 25 October 2010 05:29 (A review of House M.D.)

The highly acclaimed show is indeed awesome and impressive. The fact that just about every episode the same things happen and it still gets you hooked..is unheard of. House M.d. is one of my favorite shows.

--House is unlikable, a scrooge, jerk and insensitive..yet we all adore him. I like when he speaks honestly, even if it's hardcore mean, when others around him are speaking bull-crap. Even though he does what-ever it takes, by un-conventional, un-lawful means..He always gets the job done. He freakin' plays guitar and piano! House really is the man. The friendship between House and Wilson is awesome and hilarious, they're always going at it and it's very entertaining.

--Dr.Wilson^Above, is my favorite character. He has morals, be-friends House when others don't and is one funny guy.

--"13^Above, is my 2nd favorite character..She's gorgeous, intelligent and knows what she is doing when House needs something done.

New Zealand's Finest

Posted : 13 years, 5 months ago on 25 October 2010 05:11 (A review of The Flight of the Conchords)

--It's a shame that this show went off the air. Many watched Bret(LEFT) and Jemaine(RIGHT) go to New York, as two struggling musicians from New Zealand. Shinanigans occurr with their *Michael Scott-esque* type manager: Murry. Playing clubs and doing their thing captured our hearts with hilarity and joy. The show features a lot of their songs on their CD's and they're awesome!

The show had some great characters like:
Dave--Dave is their "hip" friend who shows them the ropes, but we all know he's informed with most everything and is utterly hilarious.

Mel--She's the band's BIGGEST fan and we love her creepiness and love for the band.

Greg--Greg is Murray's friend and even tho Murray treats him bad sometimes, Greg is forgiving and quite hysterical for no reason haha.

--I own both of the seasons and they're always hysterical, intriguing and fun to watch. Go take a Flight with em and enjoy.

Abigail Williams strikes GOLD

Posted : 13 years, 5 months ago on 25 October 2010 03:38 (A review of In The Shadow Of A Thousand Suns)

Being weary of "black metal' bands, I was cautious upon listening to these guys. However, being non-satanic, with unique lyrics..the album's solid!

The vocals mainly consist of highs, screeching and the over-dubs of low and high layered. Sounding eerie and ferocious, it's some of the best vocals.

Guitars: The riffs are so classic sounding toward some of the most well know, early black metal bands. Very melodic, fast, intricate and amazing.

Drums: Oh man! Samus, the drummer, can play at incredible speed and has very well thought out fills. A very underrated drummer.

Keyboards: Ashley Ellylon, whom is very pretty, is classically trained and it explodes with melody into these 10 tracks. She can play, too bad she's with Cradle of Filth now. :/

Lyrics: As I said, unlike most, they're not Satanic or don't hint at it. They're very dark, will appeal to many and are killer.

"Driven to madness the moon speaks to no one
Spheres of darkness perpetual through the aeons and beyond in the moonlight upon the shoulders of ignorance
They ask us a question
One thousand words
Read the writing on the walls".
They are dark and filled with questions and looking towards other places besides the Earth or it's surroundings.

Those treasured wisdoms were forgotten over time
Holds a message stolen from the stars where we live
In the shadows
Here in the womb of a thousand suns."

Track Listing
1.I--00:39
2.The World Beyond--06:16
3.Acolytes--05:00
4.A Thousand Suns--05:09
5.Into The Ashes--04:39
6.Smoke And Mirrors--04:52
7.A Semblance Of Life--02:06
8.Empyrean: Into The Cold Wastes--06:15
9.Floods--05:48

MINDFREAK!!

Posted : 13 years, 6 months ago on 24 October 2010 12:06 (A review of Inception)

I watched this with friends and one of my friends was freaking out and said his brain was hurting, due to the film haha IT'S THAT POWERFUL AND..great!

DiCaprio, Ellen Page, Ken Watanabe and JGLevitt are all stellar and play great diverse roles. Very enjoyable to watch. I didn't notice the music that well in the film and I usually listen for it. Maybe due to the film's crazyness, I missed it hahaha. The plot is mind-blowing and extremely unique. You have to see it. I don't want to explain the awesomeness this film induces onto it's viewers, for it won't do it justice. Almost forgot about the lovely Marion Cotillard as DiCaprio's love interest, she does a superb job and proves she can act.

The ending is the bomb and ties everything in and you leave the theater with MORE than your money's worth. Beware you might just get a headache or feel stupid.

Are You Serious? Screw Hype, This Owns!

Posted : 13 years, 6 months ago on 23 October 2010 11:47 (A review of The Dark Knight)

--After seeing Christian Bale proving himself as a premium Batman, in Batman Begins.(Even if the batman "gutturals" are hilarious). Batman is my favorite super hero. Why? He has no REAL powers and it's all about skill and training. Which I enjoy rather than my least favorite: Superman. Anyways, The Dark Knight has a sterling intro and gets you hooked and go "what the poop?" right away. One of my favorite intros to this day.

--Heath Ledger really was The Joker, just sterling I say. However, I feel most loved it and thought it was legendary, due to his unfortunate death. Sorry but that's an insult to his face. If he was alive, he would have NOT have gotten so much hype and thats a shame. He really was THAT great!

--Morgan Freeman is my main man and his choices/roles he decides to be in are always cool. As a friend of Batman?? That's awesome! Almost as Awesome as Michael Cain as Alfred! LOVE IT.

--The plot is really jaw-dropping and eye grabbing. I enjoyed EVERY second of it. Harvey Dent was pretty decent, I still prefer Tommy Lee Jones tho..that's me. Aaron is really cool so it works well with the film.

--The Cast is already amazing there's no way...wait..Gary Oldman?? YES my friend! Gary Freakin' Oldman as Gordon once again is BOSS.
--Basically the dialogue is outstanding and written with excellence. The BLOW-UPS and action..are just WOW!!!!WHAT?!?!

--The only part I did not like, same with Batman Begins, is Bruce Wayne's love interest. They can't seem to cast someone who capture's a love interest, with EXQUISITE beauty. I didn't like Maggie Gyllenhaal and she isn't THAT attractive. There are far better choices like: Jennifer Connelly, Evan Rachel Wood, Naomi Watts..just to name a few.

--This movie is an EPIC adventure to be viewed among many with great taste. Cheers to the next film!

The 2 gypsy Towers!

Posted : 13 years, 6 months ago on 23 October 2010 11:17 (A review of The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers)

--This film clearly is a masterpiece, I feel bad for those who find it long..boring..stupid and full of hype. It's anything but boring and it's not even that long, should be longer I think. Peter Jackson truly made cgi awesome and revolutionized it to the masses.

The film has everything! Exquisite acting(apart from Legolas-Orlando Bloom hah), killer action/battle sequences, creative humor, strong morals and it's a flat out amazing adventure. The Orcs are killer awesome, even tho they're the bad guys :p.

I Saw this in the theaters 3 times and it blew me away every time!.

The books are of course somewhat better, but I'm not a douche and say "oh it's not like the book!" hate it when people do that..grow up, obviously everyone's imagination is different..stupid. To me these series are the PERFECT example of "Good vs. Evil". Tolkien was a Christian and whether he made the connections with Christianity is debatable, it's filled with morals, faith and Biblical principles. You could say this film touches me a lot, it really does and I don't see how someone could NOT enjoy this film or the rest of the novel based films.

Evil kind of gets the "one up" from this film and it makes you wait in anticipation for the next film. The relationships are interesting and likable. The movie appeals to many, but especially to those who are keen to SCI-FI, like Me. It's viewable for the whole family to! Heck and it doesn't need to be a "rated R" film to get Oscars and appeal. Jackson proves that through his amazing direction for this series.

In conclusion, everyone should see this film and enjoy it. I love it and enjoy it every-time. It's my type of film.

The title of the film, is well portrayed in the film and you can really sense the fellowship among Frodo and the gang. The relationships are interesting and likable. Oh That Nancy Drew

Posted : 13 years, 6 months ago on 23 October 2010 10:32 (A review of Nancy Drew)

It may seem dumb and pointless, however "Nancy Drew" is a great family film.
The plot is pretty decent and goes a different direction, than I expected.

Emma Roberts is a good Nancy Drew. I've played the games with my 2 sisters and their funny and even creepy in the dark hahah good times..anyways, Emma suits the role exceptionally well. The ending is above average and it's a good film to watch for the curious. haha
